In Bloom: The story

I know I know it has been over a year since my last post! Can’t believe it my self. I promise to be much better this year…. I promise. Wow, a lot has happened to me in the last year…actually one major thing that seems like a lot. I gave birth to my precious little Zachary in April and my life turned right side up to say the least. What a journey it has been! Navigating through motherhood, raising a charming little one, being a wife and juggling the demands of running Elizabeth Divine and the many other things I dabble into.

8 weeks after having Zachary I returned to work. I know! I couldn’t stay away especially having built so much momentum prior to giving birth. I took Zachary with me everywhere! To fabric warehouses and factories across London, strapped to me like we were conjoined at the waist. He was literarily my handbag.

It was hard I must say combining being a new mum with the kind of work I do but I know success requires handwork, commitment and dedication. The ‘in bloom’ collection which by the way, was named after the fact, was created at the brink of this new season in my life, a period of transition where I felt almost forced to adjust with the changes. I am sure a lot of mothers out there know what I talking about!

Regardless of its challenges, being a mother has inspired and motivated me to do more! I feel almost accountable to Zachary, like everything I do from henceforth determines a lot for him in the future. I feel like I am building a legacy not just for me but also for him and the rest of the children to follow. I suddenly have a new sense of being. Like a flower sprouting in response to changes in season, I also I’m in bloom.

Check out the full collection on the collections page on the website. I will also be sharing some of what we’ve been up to and behind the scenes photos and videos so stay tuned. Have a lovely valentine weekend y’all!
